After 42 years in business, Richard Simmons is sadly closing his famed workout studio.
"Some of you may have heard that Slimmons will close next month. While it is true, it has been an amazing part of my life to teach, meet and support people from all over the world," the 68-year-old star announced via Facebook on Friday, Oct. 21.

"I want to thank everyone who has come through those studio doors to laugh, cry and sweat with me! Remember to keep sweatin', keep movin' and most importantly go out and vote! Love, Richard XO," he continued.

Richard previously began his weight loss empire by opening Slimmons in Beverly Hills, Calif. in summer 1974. The news of his studio's closing comes just months after the exercise mogul was forced to address rumors he was being held hostage in his own home. "You haven't seen the last of me. I'll come back and I'll come back strong," he said in March.
