Kate Hudson is opening up about calling off her engagement from Matt Bellamy — and confessed she actually enjoys being single!
"It's nice to get acquainted with myself alone," the 36-year-old actress said in a new interview with Harper's Bazaar. "You know, the goal when you get into a relationship is not to be out of the relationship. It's to try to stay in the relationship. But if it doesn't work, you can't force things."

Kate and Matt, 37, first began dating in spring 2010 and became engaged a year later in April 2011. The parents to four-year-old Bingham Hawn "Bing" Bellamy announced their split in December 2014 after more than four years together. The Almost Famous star is also a mom to an 11-year-old son, Ryder Russell Robinson, from her first marriage to Chris Robinson.

"If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives. That doesn't mean, though, that we can't rebuild something that would be the best thing for the kids," the actress told Allure.
