Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, 46, was found dead this morning in his Manhattan apartment. According to NYPD, the cause of death was an apparent drug overdose.
The actor, who has a history of drug abuse, most recently checked out of a rehab facility for heroin addiction in May of 2013.
in 2006, Hoffman was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Capote.
Hoffman and his longterm girlfriend, Mimi O'Donnell, are parents to three young children.
