Baby Archie's Cutest Photos: Pics of Meghan and Harry's Child

Since welcoming their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on May 6, 2019, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have never been happier. As they’ve adjusted to their new lives as mom and dad, the royal couple has also made big changes to make sure their son has the best upbringing.

In January 2020, the Duke of Sussex and the former Suits actress announced their decision to step back from their roles as senior members of Queen Elizabeth‘s royal family. Harry and Meghan shared their plans to split time between the U.K. and North America, as well as “become financially independent” from Her Majesty.

Following the news of Harry and Meg’s royal relinquishment — which was made permanent in February 2021 — fans wondered if the couple would continue to follow the queen’s royal traditions. However, a source close to the famous family exclusively told Closer that “Archie won’t be taught” royal protocol because “Meghan wasn’t a fan.”

“Harry and Meghan are determined to give Archie a normal life … for him to be treated like any other child,” the insider explained, noting their decision to leave the U.K. has given the duke so much more freedom as a father.

“Harry’s always been heavily involved in Archie’s upbringing. Just as much as Meghan,” the source added. “But now he’s getting to spend more quality time with Archie without any interruptions and his phone ringing nonstop.”

It seems unlikely that Meg and Harry will change their minds and return to their working roles, especially since they put down roots in Santa Barbara. The duo has been residing in the Montecito area after relocating to North America following their decision to step back from the royals.

Since settling down in California, the Deal or No Deal alum and the prince have been focusing on their lives as the parents to Archie, as well as his little sister, Lilibet. Meghan and Harry welcomed their daughter in June 2021, officially making their son a big brother. Considering Archie is “an independent, confident and determined child,” there’s no doubt he’s going to be the best sibling!

Meghan and Harry’s CBS Interview — March 7, 2021

Archie made a rare appearance during his mom and dad’s primetime special on CBS. As the parents chatted about their little bundle of joy, a video of Archie running on the beach played on the TV screens. The youngster can be seen wearing a sweater and pants as he hugged his mom before running through Harry’s legs.

Archie’s 1st Birthday — May 6, 2020

In honor of Archie’s milestone birthday on May 6, Meghan and Harry shared a new video of him on Instagram. The stunning duchess was all smiles as she read Duck! Rabbit! to her son in a clip posted on Save With Stories‘ Instagram page.

Harry, who was “behind the camera,” captured the heartwarming moment as the little tot sat on his mom’s lap for storytime. We can’t believe how big Archie got!

Holiday Fun — December 31, 2019

Harry and Meghan proved their little man is growing up quickly as they gave fans a glimpse inside their 2019 holiday festivities. While sharing clips of their year in review ahead of the start of 2020, the doting dad can be seen holding his little boy as they celebrated Christmas in Canada.

“Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and thanking you for your continued support! We’ve loved meeting so many of you from around the world and can’t wait to meet many more of you next year,” the royal couple captioned their Instagram video on December 31. “We hope 2020 brings each of you health and continued happiness. — The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

Archie’s Christening — July 6, 2019

The Sussex family shared photos from baby Archie’s christening this past July. At the time of the special event, the duke and duchess took to Instagram to share a glimpse inside their day with Archie.

“This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby,” began the caption alongside the snaps. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son. They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment.”

Archie Meets His Grandparents — May 8, 2019

The little royal met his great-grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, as well as grandmother Doria Ragland, just a few days after he arrived in the spring. “This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle,” the statement read at the time. “The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.”
