They may be one of Hollywood’s strongest power couples, but Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are nothing without their children! The longtime pair, who are the mom and dad of 19-year-old Dylan Douglas and 16-year-old Carys Douglas — as well as Michael’s son, Cameron Douglas, 40, with ex-wife Diandra Luker — have opened up plenty about their kids in the past.
While the Falling Down star has a whole lot to be proud of, Michael, 74, once dished that he couldn’t be happier about his kids wanting to follow in his acting footsteps. In fact, he gushed that being in showbiz alongside his little ones makes the long hours and time away from home all worth it.
“The fact that all of them want to be actors and are good actors makes it all the more enjoyable,” he previously said on Hoda Kotb‘s SiriusXM radio show. “They understand the whole system and have the sense of a third generation.”
The Fatal Attraction star also admitted that this older age has given him a new perspective on what’s important in life, such as his wife and kids. “The joy of my marriage with Catherine and having our children at a point in my life when my career had developed allowed me much more time to enjoy my family,” he explained to the Today host.
“I’m old enough to appreciate that this is a good time in one’s life, and I’m not taking it for granted,” The Kominsky Method actor previously told People. “I’m grateful for a good marriage, good kids and my health.”
