What a reunion! Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones may be two busy people, but they will always have time for their loved ones — and they proved that recently by posing for a family photo with members of the actor’s clan.
The Wall Street star’s son, Cameron, took to Instagram earlier this week to share quite the lovely snap featuring his dad, the Chicago actress, and other family members including Michael’s own father, actor Kirk Douglas, 102. “#FamilyFirst” the Oscar winner’s eldest captioned the pic. In the photo, Cameron holds his 19-month-old daughter Lua, as he stands near his girlfriend Viviane Thibes.
Also in the post are Michael, 74, and Catherine’s other kids — son Dylan, 19, and daughter Carys, 16. Fans were loving the pic, as they rushed to the comments section to respond. “Wow!! Such a beautiful Family!!! Historic photo for sure!!” one person said. Another added, “Four generations of Douglasses! How neat!! God Bless!”
It is no surprise here, but the Basic Instinct costar and his lovely wife, 49, — who tied the knot in 2000 — have always been about family, especially their children. And while they are a famous couple, the pair have tried to keep their kids grounded. “We’ve kind of shielded them away, but they’re incredibly mature for their tender years,” The Mask of Zorro star once told ET. “They get it, and that’s just a thing [where] I think that I just got lucky.”
“They’ve kinda been removed from the crazy world of Hollywood or even the crazy world of Manhattan. The teenagers here in Manhattan, there’s a maturity that comes too quick I think,” she added. However, the duo accepts the fact that their children may want to follow in their footsteps.
“The other night we had my son on FaceTime saying something about some role and then my daughter, who was auditioning for her school play,” Catherine recalled to the outlet. “I’m talking about my show, [Michael’s] talking about his show. We both went, like, ‘This is four actors at one table, it’s too much.'”
Well, at least we know that whatever happens this family will always be in each other’s corner!
