Donny Osmond and Debbie Osmond's Relationship Timeline

He may be one of Hollywood’s most iconic singers, but at home, Donny Osmond is a loving husband and father. The “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” singer has been swooning fans with his biggest hits ever since he began taking the stage as a young teen, but Donny has been an even better husband ever since he tied the knot with Debbie Osmond in 1978.

Since then, the beloved couple has been living a life of wedded bliss. The 62-year-old is no stranger to praising his beautiful wife, and he recently opened up about their unbreakable bond in a sweet shout-out he gave to Debbie on her 61st birthday.

“#HappyBirthday to my sweetheart!⁣ Something I’ve noticed over the years is Debbie’s unique relationship with time,” the Masked Singer alum said in February. “Time seems to rob many of us of our youthful glow, good looks, and intelligence. Yet somehow, time makes Debbie even more stunningly radiant, intelligent and beautiful with every passing year. It’s really not fair to the rest of us, Deb. ⁣Happy birthday to the loveliest woman in the world, my wife and my love!”

The two lovebirds are in it for the long haul. In January 2020, Donny revealed the secret to a successful marriage and he said it has everything to do with making your spouse happy. That’s why the “Seasons of Love” musician never fails to complement his wife when Valentine’s Day or their anniversary comes around.

“I’m in the process of writing a song about her right now,” the entertainer previously revealed about how he plans on surprising Debbie for their 42nd wedding anniversary. “In my opinion, it’s turning out to be the very song that I’ve been missing to complete my new album. It’s really beautiful, just like her.”

They Met in 1975

Donny first met his one true love when she was 15 and he was 16. “She was the hot babe cheerleader in town and she dated my brother Jay [Osmond] before she dated me,” The Masked Singer star once gushed about their relationship in a Facebook post from May 2016. “It took me 3 whole years to win her heart and convince her to marry me.”

They Got Married in 1978

Three years after meeting, Donny and Debbie tied the knot when he was 20 and she was just 19. The loving couple said their “I do’s” at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 8, 1978. Donny once admitted that his father, George Osmond, didn’t want his son to pursue a relationship with Debbie because he thought it would hurt his career. “While the world knew me as a teen idol, and the Osmonds fame was at its height, I began secretly dating Debbie Glenn,” he told The Guardian in 2017. “By the time I was 19, I knew I was in love and had to do something right for me. When I told my dad, he said, ‘Well, there goes your career, but this is ushering in your personal life.'”

They Welcomed Baby No. 5 in 1998

In 1998, the two lovebirds had their fifth and final child, Joshua Davis Osmond. In December 2019, he returned home from Rome, Italy, after serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Once he was back in the U.S., Josh proposed to his now-wife, Summer Felster, and the pair got married on June 13. Donny shared a photo of the newlyweds kissing by a waterfall and captioned it, “Today was a picture-perfect day. Summer and Josh, we are absolutely thrilled for you and your bright future ahead. More pictures to come! #justmarried.”

They Celebrate Valentine’s Day in 2020

For Valentine’s Day 2020, Donny took to Instagram to write a sweet tribute for the “absolute love” of his life. “I want to publicly express my gratitude for the irreplaceable influence Debbie continues to be in my life,” he gushed. “Between raising our five sons, running the show at home, enjoying time with our grandchildren and running a business as well, I really don’t know how she manages to do it all.”

Donny continued, “I’m deeply grateful for a wife who is my teammate in every sense of the word. She is the glue that holds us all together.”

They Returned to Where It All Began in 2020

In April 2020, Donny took Debbie to the Sundance Mountain Resort. He said it was a “very special place” for them because that’s where the duo had their first kiss. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Donny and Debbie couldn’t go into the establishment so they had their waiter bring their food to the car.

“We had the nicest time eating our dinner, enjoying the scenery and reminiscing about all of the wonderful memories we share at this beautiful place in #Utah,” the entertainer gushed. “It was the perfect #DateNight.”
