Where would Sandra Bullock be without her kids, Laila and Louis? They’ve brought so much joy into her life and they’ve made the Bird Box actress feel like she has a strong family unit with her boyfriend, Bryan Randall.
“The kids consider Bryan their father and he calls them his children. They’re a happy little family,” an insider told Closer Weekly, adding the couple “have a quiet, happy life together.”
Even though Sandra’s kids share a close bond with the former high fashion model, Sandra will normally take the lead when it comes to raising them. That’s why she “deliberately downsized Christmas” in December 2019. The Lake House star was trying to teach Laila and Louis how to be grateful.
“Sandra used to go all out for the holidays, tons of gifts and decorations, but last year she and Bryan changed all that,” a second source close to the couple previously told Closer. “Louis and Laila only [got] three gifts each, which is plenty when you realize some children get nothing.”
By doing that, the Speed star made her children “realize how blessed they are.” If anything, she “wants them to think outside their little comfort zone. Of course, she doesn’t want them to grow up too quickly, but the world can be a harsh reality. She wants them prepared and protected,” the insider said. “It’s a balance that Sandra works really hard to create.”
The mom of two kept this type of mindset when she was quarantining with her family amid the coronavirus pandemic. Since she and Bryan “scaled back” on work, the pair got to spend even more time with Laila and Louis at home. The kids are “involved in donating masks and writing letters of support to frontline workers,” the first insider shared. “It’s very sweet. They make sure the children are well balanced and don’t live a ‘Hollywood’ life.”
