Chrissy Teigen and John Legend know a thing about fancy living! The Hollywood couple has resided in many gorgeous mansions throughout the years, including their former home in Beverly Hills. Chrissy and John recently let go of the 8,500-square-feet property and sold it for nearly $17 million.
The Cravings author and the “All of Me” singer unloaded the impressive pad in July 2021. According to Page Six, the two originally listed the residence for $24 million last year and moved out by August 2020, and although they had a deal at the time, it ultimately fell through when it went into escrow.
It looks like Chrissy and John — who wed in 2013 — made a pretty penny on the sale of their home considering they first moved into the abode in 2016, paying $14.1 million to previous owner Rihanna. The lovebirds lived in the beautiful house with their two kids, Luna and Miles, as well as Chrissy’s mom, Vilailuck.
Although the Lip Sync Battle alum and the EGOT winner have moved on and are starting over in a new home, their former Beverly Hills pad was a great place for their family to live in all these years. The property features eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a glamorous kitchen, walk-in closets, multiple formal and living areas, an impressive outdoor patio and much more.
Aside from the endless amounts of room, Chrissy and John decorated the dwelling with stunning artwork, sweet family photos and top-of-the-line furnishings. At the time they were decorating the place, the two lovebirds called upon interiors designer Don Stewart to help make the home their dream come true.
Since parting ways with the luxurious mansion, Chrissy and John have upgraded to a new and much bigger Beverly Hills property. People reported the showbiz pair purchased a 10,700 square-foot pad in September 2020. The home boasts six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and much more amenities.
The most special part of their new home is the “tree of life,” which they “dedicated” to their late son, Jack, who died when Chrissy suffered a pregnancy loss while 20 weeks along. The gorgeous tribute, which is a “Thai tradition,” sits in the center of their living room.
“This tree being planted inside the home, the whole reason why I wanted it was so Jack’s ashes could be in that soil and he could be with us all the time and grow through the beautiful leaves in this tree,” Chrissy explained. “The way Miles and Luna talk about him is so beautiful.”
