Call us crazy, but it feels like a national holiday because everyone is celebrating the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s baby boy! Royal fans have going all out in London, donning patriotic outfits to show just how happy they are for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning, a very healthy boy,” Harry announced to the public shortly after their child was born on Monday, May 6. “Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I could possibly imagine.”

“How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we are both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everyone out there,” he added. “It’s been amazing. So we just wanted to share this with everybody.”

Since Meghan and Harry’s new baby is seventh in line for the throne, we totally understand why fans want to celebrate Baby Sussex’s arrival before they go back to work tomorrow. After all, who wouldn’t want to be a part of history in the making!

The royal couple’s Instagram was the first news we heard about their baby being born. “Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz,” the post read. “The duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.”

Harry and Meghan weren’t the only ones who were really excited to meet their new baby. According to a statement released by Buckingham Palace, Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, felt “overjoyed” to be a grandmother for the first time. How sweet!

Now that their child is born, Harry and Meghan can give their son the best upbringing as possible. “[Meghan] has done a ton of research on child development and knows how crucial the first five years are,” an insider recently revealed to Closer Weekly. “She wants to ensure that her baby is surrounded by positive energy.”

Harry and Meghan won’t be relying on their royal nanny to do everything for them because they plan on being hands-on parents. “They want to build up their children’s self-confidence by letting them speak their minds and gently correcting when they misbehave,” another source previously shared to Closer. “They are going to be even more hands-on than [Prince] William and Kate [Middleton], and that’s saying something!”

Meghan once told The Brew in November 2014 that she wanted “to be a Mom with wee ones running around my house” one day. Looks like she is seeing her dreams come true — thanks in large part to Harry!
