Meghan Markle Wants Her Mom to Be the Royal Baby’s Nanny: ‘It’s Doria Ragland or No One’ (Exclusive)

Mom-to-be Meghan Markle is getting ready for the arrival of her first baby with husband Prince Harry in her own way! Since Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s highly trained nanny, Maria Borrallo, does such a great job watching over the three Cambridge kids, the staff at Kensington Palace has been pressuring Meghan to hire a similarly skilled nanny for her royal baby. But Meghan keeps declining the offer because she wants to hire her mom, Doria Ragland, instead!

“Doria’s going to be her child’s nanny,” a palace insider exclusively revealed to Closer Weekly. “The royals were insistent that she hire someone with international credentials and highly trained in security and self-defense [like Maria], but Meghan was having none of it.”

Meghan, 37, only wants to hire someone who she can totally trust, so she thinks that her 62-year-old mom would be perfect for the job. After all, Doria has always been a huge support for her famous daughter, especially when it came to recently defending Meghan in her rumored feud with Kate, also 37.

“It’s Doria or no one,” the source admitted. “So now there’s a huge scramble within Kensington Palace staff to train her up on royal etiquette and survival techniques because this role is not just about changing nappies and singing lullabies. Doria will be entrusted with passing on very important skills to Harry and Meghan’s children.”

This isn’t the first time that Meghan has demanded to have things her way in the royal household either. Heat magazine previously reported that the Duchess of Sussex was apparently causing some controversy at the palace because of her unusual birth plan.

“It’s unlike anything the royal family has ever seen,” a source previously told the news outlet. “The biggest battle is where Meghan will give birth. She is a huge advocate of home births, but British royals are expected to give birth at the Lindo wing of St. Mary’s hospital in London [like Kate and Princess Diana did].”
