All That You Must Know Of Royal Nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo

The royal family has plenty of events and engagements to attend, and because of that someone is needed to look after the little ones. And who is that person? It’s the royal nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, of course.

Who is she?

Maria is the current royal nanny who looks after Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s three children, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and 8-month-old Prince Louis. The nanny, who is in her 40s, is from the Spanish City of Palencia. Maria is also a graduate of Norland College, located in Bath, UK. The school is known for training the caretakers of the UK’s most notable families, so it’s obvious Maria is doing exactly what she aimed to do after years of studying. Not only did Norland teach Maria traditional child rearing skills, but they also taught her self-defense and trained her in first-aid.

Notable appearances

Maria started working for the royal family in 2014, when George was just eight months old. The media first took notice of Maria when she accompanied Will, Kate, and baby George on a tour of Australia and New Zealand. She also went on to not only assist bridesmaids at Princess Eugenie‘s wedding, she was also at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s wedding. In 2015, Maria was at Charlotte’s christening too. Recently the nanny could be seen attending Queen Elizabeth‘s annual Christmas lunch as well, to help with George and Charlotte.

What does she do?

Maria, according to People, has taken it upon herself to teach Kate and William’s kids Spanish. Not only is Charlotte apparently learning the language from her nanny, but George seems to know the basics as well, including how to count to ten. The nanny also seems to be trying her best to keep George, Charlotte, and Louis’ lifestyle as normal as possible, allowing the royal trio to just be kids.

There have been no talks from the palace of replacing Maria anytime soon, so it’s pretty clear that everyone is happy with the job she’s been doing the last four years.
