She’s always wanted to be a mother! Meghan Markle will have her first child with Prince Harry soon, but the Duchess of Sussex has had parenthood on her brain for quite some time.

“I dream to be a Mom with wee ones running around my house,” the former actress, 37, told The Brew in November 2014. Before she would say ‘I do’ to the Duke of Sussex, 36, the Suits alum had plans to “one day have a cooking show, to continue working on social issues at a global level, to run a marathon, to see this glorious world and to stay grounded, grateful and open-hearted.”

Meghan is currently a patron to four organizations, so it’s clear that she’s working on issues that she finds important. The duchess also helped create a community cookbook — a now best-seller!

There is also a reason that Meghan will be a fantastic mother to her baby: she was raised by a great parent, Doria Ragland. “My mom used to have a magnet on the fridge that said, ‘It does not matter how slow you go, as long as you do not stop.’ That rings true for me,” Meghan told the outlet.

This isn’t the first time that Meghan has opened up about her inspirations and aspirations — she once wrote a blog post about wanting to be a … princess!

“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power. For those of you unfamiliar with the 80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man, and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength. We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here,” Meghan wrote on her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig.

Meghan even referenced Kate Middleton and her marriage to Prince William. “Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”

It’s amazing how everything came together!
