Buckingham Palace Gives Update on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Baby As the World Waits for the Arrival

Not quite time yet! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s baby may be here any minute, and Buckingham Palace wants to make sure it gives all the royal fans an update!

The baby “hasn’t been born yet,” a representative for Buckingham Palace told CBS News on Thursday, May 2. Many folks believed the child had already been born, especially since the couple revealed that they wanted to keep the birth out of the media eye for now.

”Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The duke and duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family,” the palace recently said in a statement. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.”

Non-royal fans aren’t the only ones scratching their heads at the baby’s arrival date — Prince William himself also doesn’t have the slightest clue as to when his first nephew will be here.

“I haven’t got my phone on me. I have no idea!” The Duke of Cambridge, 36, replied when an eager fan asked him if there was any sign of the royal baby. William added, “You guys will find out before I do at this rate!”

When the couple’s first baby finally does arrive, we will all learn the gender — the pair have been quite adamant about keeping it a secret. “We don’t know whether it’s a boy or girl, we are keeping it as a surprise,’” the former actress, 37, said according to St Anne’s Primary School student Kitty Dudley.

The waiting game seems like it will have to continue!
