Cuties! James Van Der Beek celebrated Christmas with his wife, Kimberly, and their five kids, by taking an epic family RV trip. The beloved Dawson’s Creek alum documented his brood’s fun-filled holiday getaway with a series of sweet posts on Instagram.

“May your days be merry and bright 🎅🏻 #merrychristmas,” the 42-year-old captioned a collage of photos he shared on Thursday, December 26. In the post, James, Kimberly, 37, and their children, Olivia, 9, Joshua, 7, Annabel, 6, Emilia, 3, and Gwendolyn, 18 months, can be seen having a ball on their holiday vacation.

In one of the photos, the Dancing With the Stars alum — who revealed his wife of almost 10 years suffered a miscarriage during season 28 of the dancing competition in November — can be seen filling the family’s RV with gas while dressed head to toe in Christmas-themed pajamas. His sweet wife and kiddos donned matching sleepwear as they traveled around California.

James also shared a super cute snapshot as he stood behind one of his little girls while enjoying a lakeside view. “Why post the pic of you having to change her pants because she fell, when there’s a pic of you looking like a super good dad right before it happened?” he joked in the caption.

The handsome actor’s wife also documented their enviable excursion. “Day one of our RV Christmas trip!” she wrote alongside a pic of their kids. “Merry Christmas from some park in CA.”

The red-haired beauty then shared a slideshow of pics from her family’s second day on the road. In the caption of her post, Kimberly got candid about personal struggles she faced after suffering a miscarriage weeks into her sixth pregnancy.

“Day two of our RV Christmas trip! Last week I could barely get out of bed,” she confessed. “Today, grounding on the river bedrock, watching the kids play, having @vanderjames family visit our campsite, getting a nap in the back of our RV With Gwen, fed the soul so hard. Got the bliss I asked for.”

The family’s well-deserved break from the spotlight comes a little over a month after James revealed the news of Kimberly’s miscarriage. Following the candid confession during a live episode of DWTS, James gushed over how grateful he was to have such undying support from his most devoted fans.

“Thankful for all of you. I’ll admit, I paused for a moment, wondering if it was healthy to be thankful for one’s Instagram following, but it’s the quality of people on here I’m grateful for, not so much the quantity,” he wrote on social media in late November. “I’d never been so open (especially with tragedy) as I’ve been these last few weeks, and you responded with love and support and prayers and shared your own stories, and we felt the energy… and it helped. So thank you.”

Shortly after James first announced their family’s loss, the actor’s DWTS partner, Emma Slater, opened up to Closer Weekly about how he was holding up. The professional dancer credited James’ wife for being their rock during the unimaginable devastation.

“Honestly, his strength is Kimberly, his wife,” the Mamma Mia! actress shared with Closer and other reporters after her partner revealed he almost didn’t return to the TV competition following the doctors’ news. “She’s the most inspirational, high-spirited person I know — she was not having it, him staying at home. She was making sure [he came here], pushing him out the door.”

James and Kimberly are such an amazing duo.
