According to reports, Hugh Grant has secretly been a father-of-three for over a year after welcoming a baby boy with Swedish TV producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein in September 2012.
His third child’s arrival came only three months before the birth of his second child Felix with former girlfriend Tinglan Hong. It is unclear whether the women knew they were both expecting children with the actor.
At the time of Felix’s birth, Grant confirmed his paternity via Twitter, writing, “In answer to some journos. Am thrilled my daughter now has a brother. Adore them both to an uncool degree. They have a fab mum.”
He added a short time later, “And to be crystal clear. I am the Daddy.”
The “About A Boy” star’s paternity of Eberstein's son was only revealed after his full name, Hugh John Mungo Grant, appeared on the birth certificate last December.
Originally, Eberstein had left the space for the father’s name blank, according to various sources.
Hong is also mother to Grant’s first child, Tabitha, who was born in 2011. The two reportedly met at a Chelsea wine bar in 2008 before starting a romantic relationship in January 2011.
Little is known about Grant’s relationship with Eberstein, though sources say she is supported by the 53-year-old and living comfortably.
Back when Grant became a first-time father, he admitted the pregnancy came as a shock.
“I can’t pretend it wasn’t a little bit of a surprise. But it’s a very nice surprise,” he shared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “In fact, the baby’s name in Chinese, because the mother’s is Chinese, means ‘happy surprise.’”
The “Love Actually” star also shared that fatherhood has had a positive impact on him. “
Everyone was right all these years, saying: ‘Hugh, why don’t you have some children? It changes your life.’ Now that I have a child, it is life changing. I recommend it. Get some,” he told the talk show host.
