It’s been nearly two years since Simon Cowell shared glimpses into his life via Instagram. But the America’s Got Talent judge surprised his 1.3 million followers over the weekend when he returned to the photo-sharing site and posted a sweet pic of his adorable mini-me son, Eric Cowell, reading a book as he lounged around in his racecar pajamas.
“Eric reading his new favorite book Come Find Me and it’s illustrated by my friend [Terry Crews],” the 59-year-old captioned the sweet snapshot. Since Simon and his girlfriend, Laura Silverman, try to keep their kids’ lives as private as possible — the socialite is also a mom to son Adam Silverman, 13, from a previous marriage with businessman Andrew Silverman — we haven’t seen much of the adorable 5-year-old on social media over the past few years. Take a look at the cute pic Simon shared below!
When the former American Idol judge shared the sweet new snap of Eric, his fans couldn’t help but point out the resemblance between the two. “Wow, Simon, Eric is so big. Looks just like you. You are an amazing Dad,” one user wrote in the comments section of the photo, which was Simon’s first Instagram post since June 2017. “God, he’s the image of you,” gushed another.
After watching Simon on TV for years, we’ve come to love the music mogul for being a strong, brutally honest and passionate person. But since welcoming his little bundle of joy in 2014, fatherhood has brought out Simon’s kinder side. “He’s madly in love with his son,” an insider once exclusively told Closer Weekly. “And he’ll openly tell his friends his intense feeling he has for Eric. He’s turned into a big softie with him.”
Simon has taken on many roles throughout his life, but the handsome hunk recently dished that he couldn’t imagine life without being a dad. “[Time flies] like you wouldn’t believe,” he gushed to Us Weekly at the America’s Got Talent season 14 red carpet kickoff on Monday, March 11. “I said to someone the other day, ‘It’s much easier than I thought.’ And then you can’t imagine ever not having him … It’s the most amazing feeling.” We love this father and son duo!
