TV star Simon Cowell is still enjoying his relaxing family vacation in Barbados! The 59-year-old music executive took the Cowell clan to the sun-kissed island to ring in the New Year and during their lavish trip, they’ve gotten to hit the beach, go jet skiing, and Simon’s 4-year-old son, Eric Cowell, even got to play with a monkey! That’s right, a monkey!

The vacation seemed like a great time for Simon and Eric to do some quality father-son bonding because, after all, Simon does want Eric to take over his music empire one day. “I’m getting him ready to do my job,” Simon said during a previous appearance on the UK morning show This Morning. “He’s in training.”

We’re sure that with Simon’s expert advice, Eric will grow to become one of the best music executives in the industry. “He’s madly in love with his son,” an insider revealed to Closer Weekly in a previous interview. “And he’ll openly tell his friends his intense feeling he has for Eric. He’s turned into a big softie with him.”
