Fans were once again concerned for Ryan Seacrest when he skipped the Memorial Day episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan, and Kelly Ripa‘s husband, Mark Consuelos, filled in for him in the Caribbean. This is the second time this month Ryan was absent from the morning show.
On May 18, the 45-year-old producer couldn’t make the program after he was exhausted from working late on the American Idol finale. “Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home,” his rep told People at that time.
“Between Live with Kelly and Ryan, American Idol, ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest,’ and the Disney Family Singalong specials, he has been juggling three to four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he’s in need of rest,” the rep added. “So today he took a well-deserved day off.”
Although Ryan needed some time to rest, he seemed fine when he returned to work on May 19. The entertainer even posted a photo of him hiking the weekend before he was scheduled to appear on Live. “A breath of fresh air … even from behind a mask. Happy Memorial Day Weekend!” he captioned the Instagram post on Sunday, May 24. Hopefully, the on-air host returns to the talk show soon. Live just isn’t the same without him.
“Family is so important to me, and to Shayna as well, but I’ve always tried to put life into a master schedule with deadlines, and I don’t want to do that [with her],” he said. “We both try to actually be in this moment, feel this connection, enjoy it and let it grow.”
The couple have been dating since 2013 and they’re crazy about each other. The model even followed her beau to New York when he landed Live in May 2017.
“Living together is easy,” Ryan gushed. “We’re very in sync.”
