After Freddie Mercury and Queen’s biopic was a massive success, people expect Elton John‘s upcoming film Rocketman to fill theaters up as well. So it is no surprise that music legend Rod Stewart wants his own movie made about his life too.

“I haven’t seen the Elton John biopic, but I’d love one of me,” the “Maggie May” singer recently revealed while at London nightclub Tramp’s 50th anniversary party. Elton’s film tells the story of his rise to the top and his eventual collaboration with Bernie Taupin.

The “Tiny Dancer” singer is currently on his farewell tour after announcing he is wrapping up his music career, and while he and Rod are well known friends, the performer did once poke fun at the way Elton is going out. “Talking about retirement, I’ve never spoken about retirement, and if I do retire, I won’t make an announcement,” Rod said during a 2018 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

“I’ll just fade away. I don’t think this big deal, ‘I’m going to retire.’ It stinks of selling tickets … it’s dishonest. It’s not rock and roll,” he added.

Rod also mentioned a past incident that involved Elton stormed off stage after a fan angered him by touching his piano and trying to take pictures. “I sort of understand,” he said, even though he did agree the fan was annoying. “I don’t mind it. I love people coming up on stage. It’s a laugh.”

The hitmaker attended the anniversary party with his wife Penny Lancaster, who he has been married to since 2007. The pair share two kids — Alastair, 13, and Aiden, 8. If Rod does end up getting his own biopic, he does have someone in mind who can play him.

“My Alastair said gotta make one about you! Because I can play a younger you. I’d love to cooperate!” Rod mentioned while on the British talk show This Morning.

We can’t wait to see if Rod ever gets his own movie!
