Melanie Griffith Is More ‘Peaceful’ Than Ever at 62: ‘She Has a Full Life’

She’s experienced many ups and downs throughout her decades-long career in showbiz, but a source close to Melanie Griffith insist the actress is now living her best life. While recently chatting with Closer Weekly, an insider exclusively revealed why the Working Girl star has never been as happy as she is at 62 years old.

“She does yoga — [Melanie] is good friends with Kris Jenner and they do yoga together,” the source shared with Closer, noting that the blonde beauty’s life is more “peaceful” than ever. “She hangs with her mom [Tippi Hendren] and her kids. She acts, loves to work, goes to her 12-step meetings. She has a full life.”

Even though Melanie is enjoying some time off with her friends and family, the insider dished she’s super excited to get back to work. “She thinks it would be fun to do a superhero movie, and maybe a musical again,” the source explained. “She did Chicago and loved it. An HBO drama would be great. She loved Big Little Lies, she would have loved even a small part on that show.”

Nowadays, Melanie — who is the proud mom of her three kids: Alexander Bauer, 34, Dakota Johnson, 30, and Stella Banderas, 23, from previous relationships — is doing whatever she can to stay happy and healthy. “[She loves] yoga, eating well and exercising with weights with her trainer, Gunnar Peterson. Staying in a positive state of mind.”

The source also noted that in order to maintain her healthiest self, Melanie stays far away from “substances and negative people.” Instead, she is “living a quiet life,” the insider continued. “Melanie is in a great place and happy. She’s truly a Hollywood survivor.”

As fans of the Now and Then actress know, she has struggled with addiction and substance abuse issues as early as 1998. Over the last few decades, Melanie has checked herself into rehab at least three times. In fact, the insider told Closer Melanie couldn’t have gotten past her darkest days if it weren’t for her closest loved ones.

“Her friends, her mom,” the source said, noting who Melanie replied on the most during her most difficult years. “Her childhood non-show[biz] business friends and all the sober Hollywood friends she knows.”

Although Melanie is happier than ever, a separate source previously told Closer that she’s not necessarily looking for love. “She’s been dating occasionally, and she’s open,” the source exclusively shared with Closer, noting Melanie “will definitely not get married again.”
