Melanie Griffith’s 3 Kids Make Her So Proud! Meet the ‘Working Girl’ Star’s Children

To say Melanie Griffith‘s three kids are her world would be a complete understatement. The iconic actress has been the best mom to her children, Alexander Bauer, Dakota Johnson and Stella Banderas Griffith, while juggling her legendary Hollywood career throughout the last few decades.

Melanie has reeled in plenty of accolades, but nothing beats the day she experienced motherhood for the first time when her eldest child, Alexander, arrived in 1985. The Milk Money actress was married to Alexander’s dad and her second husband, Steven Bauer, but the two called it quits four years later in 1989 after eight years of marriage.

That same year, Melanie reunited with her first spouse, Don Johnson, and said “I do” for the second time. The couple — who was previously married for six months in 1976 — expanded Melanie’s family when Dakota arrived later in October 1989.

Although the Roar actress and the Miami Vice actor gave their love another shot, it ultimately didn’t work out between the two as they divorced for the final time in 1996. Fortunately, Melanie moved on with actor Antonio Banderas. The duo exchanged vows that same year and welcomed the blonde beauty’s youngest child, Stella, months later in September. Melanie and Antonio were together for nearly two decades before calling it quits in 2015.

Throughout her years as a Hollywood star, fans have come to know and love Melanie’s kids as they joined their mom at red carpet events. Her daughters, Dakota and Stella, have also pursued their own careers. While Melanie’s youngest child is still rising in the Hollywood ranks, Dakota has already starred in blockbuster hits including the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, The High Note, How to Be Single and many more.

As a showbiz icon herself, Melanie must be so thrilled to watch her gorgeous girls fill in her acting shoes. A friend of the doting mom, who described Melanie’s relationship with her kids as “close” and “loving,” once told Closer that “she is truly proud of her kids.”

However, being a “hovering” parent is simply not her style. “She lets them live their own lives, make their own mistakes,” the pal noted. “She tries to be demonstrative with her love always.”
