With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry expecting their first baby in spring 2019, the royal family is gearing up for the arrival of their little bundle of joy. Someone who apparently can’t wait for the baby’s arrival is grandma-to-be Doria Ragland. And, according to a new report, Meghan, 37, wants her 62-year-old mom to ditch her California roots and live across the pond with her and Harry, 34, once the royal baby arrives next year.

“Meghan, of course, wants her mom to move to the UK,” a royal insider recently told Us Weekly. The social worker, who currently lives in LA, reportedly wants to spend “a lot of time with Meghan and the baby” but isn’t giving up her California digs just yet. “Doria hasn’t made any commitments about doing so,” the source admitted. “She has told friends that she would keep her house in Los Angeles but is indeed planning on spending a majority of her time with Meghan.”

Finding space for Doria to stay would likely be no issue considering Meghan and Harry are saying goodbye to their Kensington Palace pad and soon saying hello to a much larger home in the country. On Saturday, Nov. 24, Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be moving from their humble abode at London’s Nottingham Cottage and relocating to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will move to Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate early next year as they prepare for the arrival of their first child. The couple have lived at Nottingham Cottage since their engagement last year,” a statement obtained by People explained.

Their move to the country is more ideal with a little one on the way considering their home at Kensington Palace only has two bedrooms and Frogmore Cottage has 10. The much larger cottage sits on the extensive grounds of Windsor Castle, which is very sentimental to Meg and Harry since it was where the couple tied the knot this past May.

Doria joining her daughter and royal son-in-law would not only allow her more time with the couple but she’d also be able to babysit all the time! That sounds like a pretty good deal to us, especially if Meg and Harry want to join Kate Middleton and Prince William for date night once they get into the swing of parenting.

Before Doria makes her decision to move to the UK, Meghan’s mom will reportedly be joining the royal family for their Christmas celebrations this year. “It is very likely Doria will be at Sandringham for Christmas and will be spending the holidays with Harry, Meghan, and other members of the royal family,” a royal confidant told Us Weekly. Maybe Doria will have so much fun at Christmastime, she won’t ever want to leave!
