The news we’ve all been waiting for has finally been announced! Meghan Markle is pregnant and expecting her first baby with husband Prince Harry, Kensington Palace revealed in an official statement on Monday, Oct. 15.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public,” the message read.

This news comes just a few days after Princess Eugenie‘s wedding and shortly after the duo touched down in Sydney, Australia for the start of their very first royal tour as husband and wife. They will be overseas until the end of the month, and even though Meg is now expecting, Vanity Fair has reported that no changes will be made to their tour schedule.

Ever since Harry and Meghan publicly announced their engagement in November 2017 and even before, the duo has been vocal about wanting a family. That said, royal fans have been waiting for this exciting announcement ever since the pair said “I do” on May 19 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

During their first official BBC interview after showing off Meg’s ring for the world to see, the pair was questioned about having kids by reporter Mishal Husain who simply asked “Children?” to Meghan and Harry during their sit-down. Harry then jokingly replied, “Not currently, no.” He then became more serious. “No, of course, you know, I think one step at a time,” he continued. “Hopefully we’ll start a family in the near future.” Well, the future is finally here, and we can’t wait to meet their future son or daughter in just a few short months!
