Meghan Markle Pays Tribute to Canada With Her Latest Outfit on Commonwealth Day — See the Pics!

Although Meghan was born in America, a lot of people actually think that she’s Canadian because she used to live in Toronto to film her hit show Suits. But believe it or not, Meghan is actually a California girl.

The best part about Harry and Meghan’s visit to Canada House was that they got to interact with young Canadians living in London. Harry recently talked about how young people can change the world when he made an appearance at WE Day in Wembley, North London, on Wednesday, March 6. “If we look at the world we’re living in, I know it can feel challenging sometimes — but your role is to shine the light,” he said at the youth event. “Every day you are inundated with an overexposure of advertising and mainstream media, social media and endless comparisons, distorting the truth, and trying to manipulate the power of positive thinking … But you don’t let them sway you.”

Meghan also inspired young people when she recently talked about female empowerment at a panel discussion on International Women’s Day. There, she talked about different ways that women can speak up for themselves. “If there’s an injustice and a lack of inequality someone needs to say something — and why not you?” she said. “We must be global feminists and include men and boys.”

Meghan has never shied away from speaking out about female empowerment. “You will hear people saying they are helping women find their voices. I fundamentally disagree with that because women don’t need to find their voices,” she previously noted at a Royal Foundation forum in February 2018. “They need to be empowered to use [their voices] and people need to be urged to listen. Right now, with so many campaigns like #MeToo and #TimesUp, there’s no better time to continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and people supporting them.”

Together, Harry and Meghan make such a strong couple and when their little bundle of joy arrives this spring, they’ll be ready to teach their daughter or son everything that they know about being leaders. “They want to do everything right,” an insider recently told Closer Weekly about the royal couple getting ready for their baby’s arrival. “They started reading [baby books] as soon as they found out they were expecting.”
