Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Son Maddox Speaks Out on Distant Relationship With Dad

Opening up. Maddox Jolie-Pitt has grown up under the spotlight thanks to his famous parents Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt — but now the 18-year-old is speaking out about all the family drama that has surrounded him for quite some time, as he touched on the distant relationship with his father.

In a video interview obtained by In Touch, Maddox reveals if he believes his dad, 55, will soon be visiting him at the Yonsei University in Incheon, South Korea, where his mom recently waved goodbye to him at. “Um, I don’t know about that … what’s happening,” he said. He continued, responding to the question of whether he and the actor’s relationship is done. “Whatever happens, happens,” he revealed.

The former power couple tied the knot in 2014 before parting ways in 2017. Aside from Maddox, the pair also have five more kids — Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 11. The strain relationship between the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star and his eldest child has been known about for quite some time. A source once told Us Weekly that the A-lister has “has accepted that he’ll likely never be able to repair their relationship.” Brad also wasn’t there when Maddox was dropped off at college.

“Maddox doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son,” another source told the outlet. However, Angelina has tried to encouraged Maddox to try and fix his relationship with his dad, the insider noted. Although while it remains to be seen for now if that will occur, it does seem like the young man has a stronger bond with his mother.

“Maddox is extra special to Angie because he’s her first,”  the source mentioned. “She can’t believe how quickly he’s grown up. She’s really going to miss him.”

We hope that Maddox and Brad can soon fix their relationship and becoming closer in the near future.
