All grown up! Angelina Jolie‘s oldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, has officially begun his newest journey after venturing off to college in South Korea. The 18-year-old — who will be studying biotechnology at Yonsei University in Seoul — was spotted walking to class on campus during his first day of college on Monday, August 26.

The famous celebrity kid donned a white baseball cap, a pair of glasses, a gray button-up shirt and matching shorts as he made his way to class in the early morning. In a video obtained by OKMagazine.com, Brad Pitt‘s adoptive son can be seen flashing a smile as he carried an academic calendar for his upcoming school year.

Maddox’s first day of college comes just days after his proud mama dropped him off at the private research university on Wednesday, August 21. In candid photos and video captured by Jin En Yu, the 44-year-old beauty confessed how emotional she felt to see her child leave the nest. “I’m trying not to cry,” Angelina explained.

Although her nest may be feeling a bit empty, it won’t be long before the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider star sees her eldest child again. “Angie is already planning on spending more time there and bringing the rest of the kids,” an insider close to the actress — who is also the mom of Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox — exclusively told Closer Weekly.

“She wants Maddox to spread his wings and fly, but she’s also going to miss him terribly,” the insider continued. “She says Maddox is setting the example for all her children, which is to follow your dreams, take chances, and explore the world.”

We can’t wait to see all off Maddox’s amazing accomplishments. We know he’ll do great things!
