After welcoming her first baby, Santiago Bastón, with her husband, José “Pepe” Bastón, in June 2018, Eva Longoria has been inspired by her celebrity friends to go back to the gym and get her post-baby body back in shape!

“Eva has been inspired by the likes of J.Lo and other fit celebs in their 40s, and she’s got the fitness bug big time. But she wants to take this a step further and is going all-out to bulk up and achieve a body that’s both shredded and jacked at the same time,” an insider exclusively told Closer Weekly in a new interview. “She’s drawn up a whole new diet consisting of tons of protein and healthy energy snacks that fire her up for hardcore gym workouts — two hours a day at a minimum. She’s lifting kettlebells and free weights at home, too, that’s how dedicated she is to pulling this off.”

After seeing Jennifer Lopez‘s incredible Motown medley performance at the 2019 Grammys on Sunday, February 10, we understand why Eva, 43, feels inspired by Jennifer, 49, to become more fit.

This past December, the new mom also revealed to Us Weekly that she wanted to wait a bit after giving birth to baby Santi before she got her body back in shape. “I really gave my body time to adjust to postpartum and post-pregnancy,” she explained at the time. “You know, it had a baby! It created a human life, so I really wasn’t too hard about getting back into shape.”

“Now I’m working out a lot more and watching what I eat,” she revealed. “I’m barely starting to get back into it.” It’s great that Eva is slowly working her way back to her healthiest self. “I still love yoga!” she admitted, but now she’s more focused on building up muscle through heavy training. “My workouts now are more weight training,” Eva added. Keep up the good work, mama!
