She might as well wait until the holidays are over to get fit, right?! Well, that’s not the plan for superstar mama Eva Longoria because she just revealed she’s ready to get back into working out nearly six months after giving birth to her adorable son, Santiago, this past June. However, it wasn’t the internet haters who ultimately convinced her to get her post-baby body back — it was herself!

“I really gave my body time to adjust to postpartum and post-pregnancy,” Eva told Us Weekly on Dec. 1. “You know, it had a baby! It created a human life, so I really wasn’t too hard about getting back into shape.”

After giving herself some time to adapt to life as a new mom, the 43-year-old actress and her husband, José “Pepe” Bastón, are doing more things for themselves. And for Eva, that includes getting herself back on the fitness game. “Now I’m working out a lot more and watching what I eat,” the Desperate Housewives alum said. “I’m barely starting to get back into it.”

But the Overboard actress isn’t into rinky-dink exercises. “My workouts now are more weight training,” she dished. “Very serious weight training.” Even though she is looking for tougher workouts that will cause her to lose weight and tone up, she still finds more simple training therapeutic. “I still love yoga,” Eva admitted.

Even before giving birth to her first bundle of joy, Eva said that she has always loved working out and eating healthy. “I’m a runner, I do yoga and I do Pilates, so it’s kind of like a rotation of those things,” she told Us Weekly of her workout routine in 2015. “And then I usually eat well… Diet and exercise is a part of my daily vocabulary.”

We give the Texas native credit for beginning her health regime during the merry holiday season. “We’re gonna be in Mexico with our families,” Eva gushed of her 50-year-old hubby and adorable kiddo’s holiday plans. “We have a Christmas exchange that happens Christmas Eve and we all get to draw names and you know, exchange gifts.”

Eva shared that Christmas is “a really fun time in our household,” and we imagine it’s only going to be better with her little bundle of joy. She even admitted that she isn’t asking Santa for anything, because she’s already received her “share of blessings” this year, “and the biggest gift of all was Santi.” So sweet!
