Emilio Estefan Calls Wife of More Than 40 Years Gloria Estefan the ‘Sexiest Woman in the World’
He has been married to Gloria Estefan for over four decades — and Emilio Estefan still believes his love his absolutely attractive after all these years.
“Gloria, what you see is what you get. She doesn’t do anything that she doesn’t want to do. She’s been honest all the way from the beginning with her music, with her family,” the 66-year-old exclusively told Closer Weekly while at the New York Women in Film & Television Muse Awards on Tuesday, December 10. “It’s not about, you know, being sexy or being whatever. You know, I think to me it’s important that women when they do things, they have to respect them because of the quality of work they do, not because they show something or they’re trying to be sexy. In the long run that doesn’t go a long way. Even you can be sexy without trying to be sexy. I think Gloria for me is the sexiest woman in the world.”
“We’ve been married over 42 years,” the musician added. “So, you know, it’s a beautiful thing when you get married, not only that you feel that you married the right person, but when you are married to the person it’s even better.”
The legendary singer was being honored, and her man knows just how important this accolade is to her. “Gloria usually gets a lot of offers to get an award, and I think this a special award, because women need to be recognized with everything they’ve done in the music business and on television and film — they want to keep it quiet, no more,” Emilio said. “That’s what I’m so proud. Today will be a special day and I hope especially for Latino women, it’s even more difficult because you come with a different attitude. They don’t think they can do it. So I hope this award inspires a lot of people, especially women, that you call can do it! I wrote it in my book that women are a lot smarter than men, and you know something, I did well!”
The happy pair have been married since 1978 — Gloria once revealed the secret behind it all. “There’s a lot of deep respect, and we’re very supportive of each other. We want each other to be successful and try to do everything to help that happen,” the Grammy winner told Closer in another exclusive interview.
It’s pretty safe to say this amazing couple could last another 40 years!
