Sean Penn’s Children Are Famous in Their Own Right! Meet Daughter Dylan and Son Hopper

Sean Penn is considered to be one of the greatest actors of our time, having starred in classic Hollywood hits like Mystic River, I Am Sam and more. But while Sean is known for his countless award-winning roles, he should also be recognized for everything he does as the dad of his two kids: daughter Dylan Penn and son Hopper Penn.

The Oscar winner shares his talented children with his second ex-wife, Robin Wright, whom he wed in 1996. The former couple started their family years earlier, welcoming Dylan in 1991, followed by Hopper in 1993. Sadly, Sean and Robin ended their marriage after 14 years in 2010.

But even though the duo are not together anymore, the Fast Times at Ridgemont High actor noted they’ve put their differences aside to coparent their kiddos as cordially as possible. “We don’t not get along,” Sean revealed during an appearance on Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast in March 2018. “We have very separate relationships with our kids at this point and it seems to work better that way because they are making their own decisions.”

Sean and Robin “did not share the same ethical views on parenting” when they were raising their children, but they’ve become a good example of how to be amicable exes. One thing they have agreed on is how dedicated they are to their kids, which is why Robin said she once turned down a Vanity Fair cover back in the day.

“It affected my career,” she said of her decision at the time during an interview with Porter. “If you don’t play the game, your notoriety doesn’t go up and then people don’t want to hire you. And it was twofold because I was raising my kids, but I was also not getting parts. As a mother, I would never take that decision back … because I loved being there with my babies. But I knew I had missed out.”

Fatherhood hasn’t necessarily affected Sean in the same way, as he’s continued to juggle his hectic Hollywood career. The legendary star expressed just how much he loves being the father of his children while chatting with host Marc Maron.

“They’re amazing people. They’re both acting and modeling, an industry that I’m not very interested in, but they seem to have fun with it,” Sean marveled. “I’m supportive of whatever my kids do that keeps them happy and healthy, period.”
