Sandra Bullock Is Teaching Kids Louis and Laila to ‘Care About Giving Back’ for the Holidays

She may be a big star, but Sandra Bullock is making her children know more about giving back than receiving when it comes to the holidays.

“The holidays for them is about family and being grateful for what they have and to remember others, who have very little,” an insider close to the actress and her boyfriend Bryan Randall exclusively told Closer Weekly. “Sandra used to go all out for the holidays, tons of gifts and decorations, but last year she and Bryan changed all that. They deliberately downscaled Christmas.” The A-lister’s children — Louis and Laila — are also learning all about staying grounded.

“Louis and Laila only get three gifts each, which is plenty when you realize some children get nothing,” the source explained. “Sandra is raising kids who care about giving back, sharing, and more importantly realize how blessed they are. Louis, 9, and Laila, 7, may be young, but they get it.” The Bird Box star and her man, 53, are also not fans of flaunting their good deeds.

“Sandra and Bryan don’t like to publicize how they give back, but they do, and she’s very generous,” the insider continued. “Sandra wants her children to have a safe, homey Christmas, but she also wants them to think outside their little comfort zone. Of course she doesn’t want them to grow up to quickly, but the world can be harsh a reality, she wants them prepared, and protected. It’s a balance that Sandra works really hard to create.”

The private couple — who have been dating 2015 — are always striving to be the best parents. While Bryan is a stepdad to Sandra’s kids, he also has his own daughter, Skylar. “Their relationship works because Sandra and Bryan don’t play any games. There are no movie star tantrums from her and he’s not jealous of Sandra’s fame,” another source told Closer exclusively. “They’re adults, they mesh really well together and they’re usually always on the same page when it comes to their relationship and raising children. What you see is what you get.”
