Actor Neil Patrick Harris just brought his children to see Elton John in concert and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t jealous. The How I Met Your Mother star and his husband, David Burtka, treated their eight-year-old twins, Gideon and Harper, to their first concert to see the icon at Madison Square Garden in NYC last week. The show that Neil and his family went to was one of 300 dates in Elton’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

“Can’t stop thinking about watching Elton at @thegarden last week. Kids’ first concert, Elton’s last,” Neil, 45, wrote in the caption for a photo slideshow he posted on Instagram commemorating the evening. “We are beyond grateful to consider this artist and genius a friend. His husband is remarkable, his children divine. Thank you for the spectacular memories, good Sir.” In the first photo, Elton, 71, can be seen wearing his signature sparkly glasses, a silver, rhinestone-studded suit, and pink-colored, shiny shoes — ones actually quite similar to the ones Neil’s daughter, Harper, is wearing, too.

The additional photos in the slideshow that Neil posted show the family-of-four jamming out during the show, as well as some photos with Elton’s husband, David Furnish, and the couple’s children Elijah, 5, and Zachary, 7. The photos suggest that they are a progression of the night considering the last one shows Neil’s husband, 43, softly smiling as Harper sleeps on his shoulder while sitting on his lap.

This is not the first time that the Harris-Burtka and John-Furnish gangs planned a night of fun together. In July, the music legend, along with his family, accompanied Neil, David, and their two kids on an incredible trip to Saint-Tropez, France. Elton posted a photo to Instagram, where all eight of them can be seen arm in arm with the happiest of smiles. Neil also shared a similar photo with the caption, “The loveliest of travel compagnons.” These group hangouts have us wondering — what in the world do we need to do to be invited?!
