What a bummer! Just hours after Kensington Palace confirmed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be spending Christmas with Prince William and Kate Middleton at Queen Elizabeth‘s Sandringham Estate, it’s been reported that Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, sadly won’t be joining the Windsors on Dec. 25.

“She is, of course, welcome at Sandringham, but wasn’t formally invited for this Christmas,” a royal source told Us Weekly on Monday, Dec. 17. It was previously reported by the UK’s Sunday Express that the 92-year-old Queen inviting Doria, 62, to spend the holiday with her daughter was a “very thoughtful gesture.”

“It’s a mark of the Queen’s respect for Meghan and an acknowledgment that she doesn’t have any other relations in this country — unlike Kate who has the support of a very close family,” an insider said of the royal family’s holiday plans in early November.

We’re sure Meghan, Harry, Kate, and William will still have a ton of fun at Sandringham this Christmas — especially since Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 8 months, are coming, too! During a recent royal outing, Kate revealed that her two eldest kids were “getting excited for Christmastime.” When a fan asked how George and Charlotte were doing, Kate kindly replied, “They’re doing well, thank you. They’re getting excited for Christmastime because they’ve started all their Christmas songs and Christmas trees are going up.”

The proud mom additionally revealed that she “can’t believe” her youngest son, Louis, is growing up so fast. “Louis is getting bigger, I can’t believe he’s like seven months now. He’s a big boy,” she shared. We’re so excited to hear about the presents the Cambridge kids open up from Santa Claus on Christmas Day — we’re guessing they’ll be fabulous gifts!
