Earlier this week, Meghan Markle welcomed her first child with Prince Harry, and now the new parent is not only celebrating Mother’s day herself, but she is making sure everyone remembers all of the moms everywhere.

The royal couple took to their official Instagram on Sunday, May 12, to share their first Mother’s Day post since the former actress, 37, gave birth to baby Archie. “Paying tribute to all mothers today — past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered,” the pair captioned a photo showing the little’s one feet in Meghan’s hand.

“We honor and celebrate each and every one of you. Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex,” they continued, adding a quote from the poem “Lands” by Nayyirah Waheed.

“My mother was my first country; the first place I ever lived,” it read.

“Ok Meghan, you are not about to make my heart drop,” one fan said in the comments section. Another added, “Thank you so much! Have a beautiful first Mother’s Day.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the birth of their son on Monday, May 6, to the delight of millions of people around the world. “Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I could possibly imagine,” Harry, 34, told reporters some time after becoming a new father.

“How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we are both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everyone out there,” he added. “It’s been amazing. So we just wanted to share this with everybody.”

The Suits alum also reacted to little Archie soon after, saying, “It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing. I mean, I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy.” She added, “He has the sweetest temperament, he’s really calm.”
