It has been quite the year for Jennifer Aniston as she continues to put more time between her and her divorce from actor Justin Theroux. Not only does Jennifer feel “very comfortable” where she is after the divorce, but she’s even gone ahead and planned a holiday getaway with her pals as a distraction. Jennifer is also currently out and about promoting her new Netflix movie Dumplin’, so she recently sat down with Elle in a new interview to talk about everything from having children to her past marriages and more. Rachel Green was an open book in this one.

For years and years people have gotten into bed and prayed that Jennifer one day has kids. And while it hasn’t worked out in her past relationships, Jennifer is still hopeful about the possibility of having some. “Who knows what the future holds in terms of a child and a partnership – how that child comes in…or doesn’t?,” the 49-year-old said, adding, “And now with science and miracles, we can do things at different times than we used to be able to.” And even though the Friends star hasn’t had the best of luck in her marriages, she has a more positive outlook.

“My marriages, they’ve been very successful, in [my] personal opinion,” Jennifer said. “And when they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness didn’t exist within that arrangement anymore.” Well Brad Pitt decided to become the old lady who lived in a shoe and raise a bunch of kids, but perhaps that was his view of happiness.

“I also was never a kid who sat around and dreamed about a wedding, you know? Those were never my fantasies,” Jennifer continued. “When I was first popped the question, it was so foreign to me. My priorities weren’t about finding partnership and who am I gonna marry and what am I gonna wear on my wedding day. I was building houses with shoe boxes and toilet paper and felt. It was always about finding a home that felt safe. And I’m sure, because I was from a divorced-parent home, that was another reason I wasn’t like, ‘Well, that looks like a great institution.’”

But even though Jennifer does not have children, she still feels like she and her friends mother each other. “We always joke that we raised each other, we mothered each other, we sistered each other, we’ve been kids to each other,” Jennifer said.

Well, while we all wait for Jennifer to make our dreams come true and have children, we can all kickback and watch Dumplin’ on Netflix as it was just released today.
