It’s been nearly a year since Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux sadly announced their divorce after seven years together, but now, Jen is turning over a new leaf. Instead of being lonely this Christmas and dwelling on their split, the actress is reportedly planning a holiday getaway.

According to Grazia, Jen has booked a trip to Mexico and has only invited her Hollywood friends who’ve been loyal to her since her highly-publicized split. “Jen wants to lift her spirits by organizing a Christmas getaway this year,” an insider shared. “She’s planning a trip to Mexico with her close friends, Jason Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka. She’s really leaned on them over the last year and they’re all closer than ever.” The insider added that the Batemans have been “fiercely loyal to Jen and won’t even be seen in the same room with one of her exes.”

It’s interesting that Jen has chosen Mexico as a place to escape for the holidays considering she and Justin celebrated the New Year there last year. Their trip came weeks before the couple announced their “mutual and loving” divorce to the public. “Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly,” the statement from Jen’s publicist Stephen Huvane said at the time. “Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”

But now, Jen is ready to go into 2019 with a new mindset. “Jen is starting the new year with a ton of exciting projects, like her TV work with Reese Witherspoon, and is throwing herself back into her career,” the source continued. “She wants to put this split behind her and, to cope, she has been heavily focused on her work ever since it happened.”

And her trip to Mexico is the perfect way to kick off a successful year. The insider shared, “She just wants to surround herself with people she trusts, and she is hoping that this holiday will allow her to start 2019 the right way.”
