Every family has its own Christmas traditions, and Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are no different! Instead of flying someplace warm for the holidays, the 55-year-old beauty revealed that she and Garth like to wait for his children — Taylor, 27, August, 25, and Allie, 23 — to come home first before they begin any festivities.

“We decorate the tree together. Now that they’re grown and living in different places, we still make it that the tree doesn’t get decorated until we’re together,” Trisha recently explained on Good Morning America. “So, it might go up and be bare for a week or two until we can get everybody together, and we’ll make sure to do that.”

Garth, 57, shares all of his children with his ex-wife, Sandy Mahl. The pair were married for 15 years until they called it quits. In 2005, the country singer tied the knot with Trisha and they’ve been together ever since.

“We always had a very deep respect for each other,” the “XXX’s and OOO’s” songstress previously explained to Closer Weekly. “It’s the friendship and the respect that sustains you. That’s the key, plus we laugh all the time.”

Even though Garth met the blonde bombshell when he was previously married to Sandy, he admitted that nothing felt right for him until Trisha walked into his life.

“I had been married [to Sandy] for 13 months when I met [Trisha],” the “Dive Bar” singer said. “When someone asked, ‘What did you think of [Trisha]?’ I said: ‘I felt like I just met my wife.’ Which was weird!”

The love they had for each other was mutual and Trisha didn’t even mind that Garth was already a dad of three when she met him. His children were so kind and beautiful that she couldn’t wait to be a stepmom.

“I didn’t have children, so to be a bonus mom to these three girls was something that I didn’t know I needed,” she confessed. “I am so grateful to have them in my life.”
