First Royal Pics: Baby Archie Compared to George, Charlotte and Louis

It’s the moment the world waits for following every royal birth announcement — the royal baby pics! Prior to welcoming their first child, son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on Monday, May 6, fans wondered whether Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were going to take photos with their little bundle of joy on the day of his birth like Kate Middleton and Prince William have done in the past.

Considering Meg, 37, and Harry, 34, have been quite untraditional since the beginning of their relationship, it wasn’t that surprising that the royal couple chose not to follow in their fellow royal family members’ footsteps. Following the births of Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 12 months, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stepped out of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital each time to snap pics with their newest child mere hours after they were born.

Luckily for some of the biggest royal fanatics, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released the official first pictures with their baby son Archie just two days after Meg welcomed him into the world. The new parents looked happier than ever as they smiled and posed for pics with their newborn son inside St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle.

Baby Archie — 2019

Although it’s royal tradition for a couple to debut their new child outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital within 24 hours of the birth, Meg and Harry chose to not share any pictures until two days after baby Archie arrived. The royal couple smiled for pics inside Windsor Castle — where they tied the knot around this time last year — as they held the adorable newborn baby in their arms. The Duchess of Sussex donned a stunning cream-colored dress with a cute belt to accentuate her post-baby body, while Harry sported a classic grey tux with a white shirt and blue tie. They couldn’t look happier!

Prince George — 2014

Following the birth of their first child, George, in July 2014, Kate and Willam didn’t share their baby with the world until at least a full day after the royal youngster — and future king — was born. Kate and William looked so in love as they smiled for pics outside the hospital while the brunette beauty held the little bundle of joy in her arms. Kate wore a pretty baby blue dress while her hubby matched her in a blue button-up with black slacks.

Princess Charlotte — 2015

Following Charlotte’s birth in May 2015, William and Kate made their debut outside the famous hospital around seven hours following the birth of their first daughter. The duchess wore a cute yellow and white dress with flower designs all over the fabric. Her hubby looked just as good in his black slacks paired with an electric blue sweater overtop a white colored shirt. They are so cute!
