Courteney Cox Says Her Relationship With Johnny McDaid Doesn’t Need A Label Because She Is ‘Married In My Heart’

Too sweet! Courteney Cox‘s love with her fiancé, Johnny McDaid, is so magical you can almost feel it in the air. Though it’s been four years since the couple got engaged, the Friends actress revealed to People that her relationship with the Snow Patrol musician doesn’t need a label because she’s “married in my heart.”

While attending the Irish Arts Center Spirit of Ireland Gala in NYC on Friday, Oct. 19, both Courteney, 54, and Johnny, 42, opened up about their relationship status. When the program at the event supposedly stated that Courteney would be attending the gala with her husband, Johnny told People that the term is just “a label.” When asked whether or not the couple had an official ceremony, Johnny charmingly answered, “we have one every morning when we look at each other.” Aww! “My thoughts are never without Court. She’s my best friend. She’s my partner, in everything,” he shared with People. “When I write her poems, it’s just an extension of how I feel every second anyway, and that’s true for me.”

Courteney and Johnny began dating in January 2014 and were engaged six months later. The couple then called it quits in late 2015. At the time, it was being reported that Courteney and Johnny could not come to an agreement on where to live because he wanted to move back to his native UK, but she didn’t want to leave LA. In April 2016, the couple was spotted reuniting with a kiss at London’s Heathrow Airport and just like that, the romance was back on. “I don’t know if you can put a label on what makes us work, but I know that I’ve never loved like I love this woman, so if that’s enough, then that’s enough,” Johnny previously told People when speaking about his relationship with the actress.

Courteney previously married actor David Arquette in 1999, who she had her only child, Coco, with. The couple separated in 2000, and it wasn’t until 2013 when their divorce was finalized. Though the divorced couple is doing a great job at co-parenting, it looks like Courteney has gotten the happily ever after she has always been wanting. Considering she hasn’t had the best of luck in her love life, it’s great to see how happy she is nowadays. Maybe one day we’ll get to see pictures of Courteney and Johnny at an official ceremony — who knows!
