We know that Charlize Theron has accomplished a ton of incredible things in her life, but if there is no one thing she is most happy about is adopting her children — and she recently opened about the first time she saw her first child, Jackson.

“I vividly remember seeing Jackson through a window. I got out of the car and I saw her through the window. Someone was holding her and my heart just jumped out of my body and I almost couldn’t catch it,” the 44-year-old recalled on W magazine’s podcast “Five Things With Lynn Hirschberg. “It is just a visceral, emotional feeling that the fact that I’m keeping my s–t together right now is so impressive … yeah it’s really incredible it’s really incredible.”

“The second time around I remember I had to wait for two hours to meet her — it was the worst two hours of my life and I met her and she looked like a little lizard. I’ll never forget it,” the Oscar winner continued. “She had severe eczema she was just covered and I remember the woman that was looking after her and she was like she looks a little rough. This is my baby! I was meant to have this little lizard baby!”

Aside from Jackson — who Charlize adopted in 2012 — the A-lister is also a mom to August. The Hollywood star has opened up about her children in the past. In April 2019, the blonde beauty revealed that Jackson, 8, is transgender.

“Yes, I thought she was a boy, too,” Charlize told Daily Mail in an interview. “Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: ‘I am not a boy!’”

“So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive,” the Bombshell star continued. “They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.”

One thing is very clear: Charlize’s entire world revolves around her little ones!
