The success of singer Celine Dion can’t really be measured as she’s lived such an incredible life. Well, besides proving herself to be an inspiration to her millions of fans around the world, that life, it turns out, is also serving as the inspiration to filmmakers behind the new $23 million film, The Power of Love.

Celine Dion Admits She’s ‘Stressed Out’ About Son René-Charles Angélil Dating Now That He’s 18

Now, this is not a biopic per se, and is, instead, being described as an “homage” to her life that is going to be influenced by the major events that have formed her — using a great many of her hit songs along the way. Notes Variety,The Power of Love chronicles Dion’s life from her birth and modest upbringing in Quebec in the 1960s to her extraordinary rise to fame as a teen, and also her relationships with her manager and husband, René Angélil, and her family.”

The film, which will be shot primarily in France, will be directed by Valerie Lemercier, who is going to also star as the character inspired by Celine. For her part, Valerie explains that her fascination with Celine, 50, began in the aftermath of the death of the singer’s husband and the depth of her grief. “I discovered the strength of their love story and their great humor,” she said, “and I better understood how the alchemy of their three individuals ambitions made an unwanted, little girl the greatest star on the planet.”

Celine Dion Slams People Criticizing Her New Slimmed-Down Figure: ‘Leave Me Alone’

This news actually comes at a time when Celine herself is feeling an upswing in life, explaining to The Sun, “To be honest with you, I think I’m at the best of my life right now and I really want to enjoy and embrace every moment of it. It’s like I’m having a second wind. Fifty has been great for me.”

And that is great news for her fans, as well. The Power of Love is expected to be released on December 2, 2020.
