Celine Dion Slams People Criticizing Her New Slimmed-Down Figure: ‘Leave Me Alone’

Singer Celine Dion is, frankly, over people hating on her new figure. The 50-year-old star has recently been flaunting her newly slimmed-down physique abroad while attending Paris Fashion Week and was subsequently forced to hit back at her critics in a new interview after hearing others were slamming her updated look.

“If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture. If you like it, I’ll be there. If you don’t, leave me alone,” Celine told the U.K.’s The Sun newspaper. When new photos of the mom-of-three recently hit the internet, many of her fans took to social media to express their concerns over Celine’s thin frame.

“I love Celine Dion’s style but is she OK? I have never seen her so skinny,” one person commented on Twitter with another similarly writing, “I’m a little worried about your health … sometimes you look [much too] skinny and weak and tired. Are you OK, honey?” Some others, however, suggested people being critical of Celine’s look should simply mind their own business. “They need to leave Celine Dion alone. Everybody suddenly becomes an expert on the issues of others and fail to look in the mirror and fix their own,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

During her interview with The Sun, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer also opened up about her new love of high-fashion clothing. “I’m doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy. [An interest in fashion] has always been part of me, but the way we used to work before was maybe more conservative,” she explained.

As for growing older in the spotlight, Celine assured she’s feeling better than ever. “Fifty has been great for me … To be honest with you, I think I’m at the best of my life right now and I really want to enjoy and embrace every moment of it, and enjoy it. That’s why I’m enjoying the fashion, my friends,  I go out, I’m traveling a little bit between shows,” she said.

“It’s all new, it’s like I’m having a second wind like I’m having a wind beneath my wings. I’m spreading, I’m having a good time,” Celine added.
