Buddy Valastro's Children: Meet the 'Cake Boss' Star's Kids

For years, Buddy Valastro has been entertaining viewers on TLC’s popular reality series Cake Boss, but there’s more to the baker than just the tasty treats he makes on the program. Buddy is a loving husband to wife Lisa Valastro and a great father to their four kids, Sofia, Buddy Jr., Marco and Carlo.

The baker is clearly all about his children, as he once gushed to LifeofDad.com, “I am a busy guy. As busy as I am, I still have a strong bond and relationship with my kids. I will take them when I travel.”

But even life on the road can be hard for Buddy sometimes, especially when he packs his family in an RV and cruises around America filming Buddy’s Family Vacation, which premiered in 2016. “There is fighting and screaming and some craziness,” he told the outlet. “But I wouldn’t have it [any] other way. We had a lot of fun doing it.”

At home, Buddy’s life is a little bit different. While he loves making his favorite snack with his kids — “chocolate chip cookies” — he revealed his youngsters have already mastered their baking skills. “Now they’re on to cooking,” the dad of four explained. “It is always really hard to get kids to eat, but if they cook it, they almost feel like they have to eat it.”

Buddy suffered a gruesome and debilitating accident in September 2020, where his hand was repeatedly impaled while fixing a pin setter at his home’s bowling alley. It landed him in the hospital, and he underwent five subsequent surgeries to repair the damage to his hand. He praised his family for their response to his crisis in a July 21, 2021, interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“They definitely stepped up to the plate. In times of crisis, you don’t know what people’s reactions are going to be. ‘How are we going to do this?’ ‘What are we going to do?'” the baker told ET. “We all came together, and I am so proud of my boys and thankful to my whole family.”

“My wife, with the recovery, was amazing, my kids, my sisters, my brother-in-laws,” he continued. “But most of all, the fans. The love and support you get from everyone, it means a lot.”

On Instagram, it’s not rare for Buddy to give his followers a glimpse while spending time at home with his family. In December 2020, the TV star showed off his wife and daughter’s impressive array of Christmas cookies. “‘Tis the season for homemade cookies baked by my beautiful wife, @lisavalastro4, and daughter @fiav_21!” he penned. “How many cookies [are] too many cookies?!?”

Buddy also shared a cute snapshot as he and his kids decorated cakes together in their dining room in October. “Family time is the BEST time!” he gushed in the caption.

Because Buddy always has the best time with his family, he considers his kiddos to be some of his “best friends.” Every day, the TV personality cherishes the moments that he gets to spend with Sofia, Buddy Jr., Marco and Carlo.

“I have a lot of accomplishments. I am not bragging, but I have done a lot of good stuff, but my biggest accomplishment is my kids and my family,” he marveled. “I have a special relationship with all of them.”

Sofia Valastro

Buddy became a dad when he and Lisa welcomed their first child, Sofia, in April 2003. In addition to making frequent appearances on her dad’s social media, Buddy’s firstborn is also seen on the TLC program.

When she’s not baking in the kitchen with her famous father, Sofia enjoys visiting the beach, hanging out with friends and spending time with her family, according to her Instagram. On her social media page, Sofia announced she will be attending the University of Delaware. “Officially a blue hen,” she captioned her post in February 2021.

Buddy also marveled over the accomplishment, writing, “HUGE Congratulations to my baby girl @fiav_21 committing to #UDEL for College. We are going to miss her SO much but we are SO proud! Keep up the hard work! Love you!”

Buddy Jr. Valastro

The baker’s second child and first son, Buddy Jr., arrived in September 2004. Like his older sister, Buddy Jr. has also been featured on his dad’s hit TV series, as well as his social media. On Instagram, Buddy has shared plenty of photos of the duo fishing together.

“We picked up this 150-pound beauty with @sterlingtackle wide trackers!” Buddy captioned a pic with his mini-me in July 2020. “Sushi time, baby!”

According to Buddy Jr.’s own social media, he enjoys a lot more than just fishing. As you can tell from his page, he’s serious about his friends, family and football.

Marco Valastro

Buddy’s third kiddo, Marco, came along in February 2007. Though he’s still young, Marco has also been a staple on Cake Boss as he’s helped out in the kitchen many times. He even joins his dad during TV appearances, including the time he appeared on The Rachael Ray Show in November 2020.

“Did you catch me and @marco_valastro on the @rachaelrayshow today?” Buddy captioned a photo of the two during their appearance.

Marco also helps his dad out in the kitchen at home. “Gearing up for the holiday bakes, this kid doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty,” Buddy wrote next to a photo of Marco in November 2020.

Carlo Valastro

Buddy and Lisa’s fourth child, Carlo, was born in February 2011. Considering Carlo is the youngest, Buddy can’t believe how quickly his son is growing up.

“The years are flying by too fast, but you fill our days with so much love and happiness,” he penned alongside a pic of Carlo while celebrating his birthday in February 2021. “We love you beyond words and we hope all your wishes come true today and always.”

Though he’s not even a teenager yet, Buddy’s little man is surely following in his family’s footsteps. In fact, Buddy revealed Carlo is the biggest fan of his famous Rainbow Cake.

“When Carlo heard we were serving our @carlosbakery Rainbow Cake at his favorite restaurant @tgifridays, he made us jump in the car and take him there right away!” the proud dad wrote next to a pic of his son in November 2020.
