Batman actor Ben Affleck is still a mama’s boy! His mom, Christine Anne Boldt, accompanied him when he went to pick up son Samuel, 7, and daughter Seraphina, 10, from school on Thursday, October 17. While the foursome were walking together, Ben and Christine looked like they had a lot to talk about.
A number of topics could have came up during their discussion, like how well Ben, 47, has been doing since he was last admitted to rehab in September 2018. During that time, she helped keep the family strong by staying with Ben’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. While Jen, also 47, was busy supporting Ben and working to keep food on the table for her kids, Christine made sure the children — including 13-year-old Violet — were OK.
“Jen has been super busy promoting her movie, and getting the kids settled back in school,” a source told People at the time. “She seems great. She has been very excited and proud to promote her new movie. The kids are excited to be back in school.”
When Ben went back to rehab, Jen had to break the news to Violet, Samuel Seraphina. “There are no secrets, and Jen is great at explaining what’s going on in age-appropriate ways,” a different insider told People in a separate interview. “She tells them Ben is sick and needs doctors. What she ultimately cares about is his sobriety and whether she can rely on him to coparent. She is trying to keep the father of her children alive.”
So far, everything has been working and Ben is now doing a lot more better than he was last year. With his ex-wife’s help, Ben has been improving and appreciating everything that Jen has done for him.
“I’m lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my coparent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I’ve done the work I set out to do,” he previously shared in a Facebook post. “This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery.”
