Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Apparently Want to Declare Their Divorce a ‘War-Free Zone’ for the Kids

Keep the peace! Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have experienced plenty of ups and downs during their split, but now the former couple has reportedly declared their divorce proceedings a “war-free zone” for the sake of their six children.

According to Grazia, the Girl, Interrupted star, 43, has “finally accepted Brad will be involved in their lives and they’ll be sharing parenting duties. While it was never clear anyway, no one could now accuse her of turning the children against him.” A source close to Brangelina added, “A lot of the unnecessary stress and strain was caused by Ange’s wild tactics.”

It’s been two years since Angelina parted ways with her now ex-husband, 55, and ever since then, their divorce proceedings have mainly been a headache for the pair as the twosome just recently agreed on a custody agreement this past December. And now, according to the outlet, the mother of Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and twins Vivienne and Knox, both 10, is trying to “make a conscious effort to calm things down for the children.”

The insider continued, “Angelina has also worked tirelessly these past few months to treat the children to days out and special events to make them happy and, some are saying, ease her guilt over what’s been a messy divorce. She’s been concerned about what they’ve been hearing from their friends about the nasty details of the divorce, which is why she’s insisted they spend more time doing activities to take their minds off of it.”

In order to stay drama-free, the insider explained, “Angelina is no longer bad-mouthing him [Brad] around the children, and she’s doing major damage control on all the toxic energy that has been running through the family ever since she filed for divorce.” The source is also revealing that the Oscar-winning actress is even letting the World War Z star spend long weekends with the kids, as he’s apparently desperate to be more present in their lives, even toying with the idea of taking a break from acting so he can have more time.

We hope all the chaos remains out of the Jolie-Pitt clan, though who knows what will go down if Charlize Theron makes her way into the mix, and that may be the case if new romance rumors involving her and Brad are accurate.
