He may be known for his hilariously outspoken demeanor on reality TV cooking shows but, to his wife, Gordon Ramsay couldn’t be any sweeter. For the last few decades, the iconic celebrity chef has been living a blessed life alongside his gorgeous wife, Tana Ramsay.

Although the brunette beauty is known as the longtime lover of one of the most famous restaurateurs, there’s actually a lot to adore about Gordon’s beloved bride than you might know. Besides the fact that she’s stunning, accomplished and one heck of a mother, she’s also got a hilariously wicked humor that puts Gordon’s to the test.

In fact, the doting husband revealed the comical — but totally silly — reason that his wife didn’t even let her hubby watch her give birth to any of their children! “She said, ‘I don’t want you to see me in this state so get out,'” the Hell’s Kitchen star said while stopping by ITV’s Jonathan Ross Show.

However, Gordon explained that Tana changed her mind when it came to the birth of their youngest kid in 2019. “Tana didn’t want to see me there for previous births,” he explained, noting that his first experience with childbirth was so emotional it actually caused him to pass out. “This time around, I was there and I absolutely crapped my pants. I fainted.”

The Kitchen Nightmares star then detailed his little one’s arrival. “I was sat there and Oscar popped out through the sunroof and then they sort of throw you on him and he’s screaming and I fell back, the nurse grabbed me,” he continued, while jokingly blaming British singer Ed Sheeran for being the reason he lost consciousness.

“Ed Sheeran was playing, I put Ed on to calm everybody,” he said, adding that his attempt to calm the situation actually backfired. “I put Ed on then I blacked out, I fainted like an idiot.” LOL!

Although Gordon’s first experience with childbirth didn’t go as well as he planned, the proud dad told the Daily Mail that he and Tana couldn’t be happier. “I’ve been giddy flying in a fighter jet at 1,000 mph. I’ve done some very dangerous things underwater. But I’ve never, ever felt as vulnerable as I did when my son Oscar was born,” Gordon gushed. “I’m sat there in the room worrying about menus and ingredients and all of a sudden this little head pops out the sunroof and you s–t yourself.”

Gordon couldn’t love his family more even if he tried!

Tana Is the Proud Mom of 5

Tana and Gordon always knew that they wanted to start a family together. Their eldest daughter, Megan, was born in 1998. The pair welcomed their twins, Jack and Holly, in 2000. The couple welcomed their youngest daughter, Matilda, in 2001. After suffering a devastating miscarriage in 2016, Tana and Gordon decided to try for one more. They welcomed their youngest son, Oscar, in 2019, and have not ruled out having more children.

“Never say never,” she told the Daily Mail in October 2021 about expanding the family again in the future. “I think I’ll want kids forever, but in all honesty, I’m just enjoying what we have and I don’t think it would be right to push my luck, because we are so blessed.”

Tana Is an Accomplished Author

Considering she’s married to one of the most famous Hollywood chefs, it’s no surprise that Tana has become a food connoisseur just like her hubby. In fact, Tana is an accomplished author when it comes to writing about eating and cooking.

In 2006, Tana penned her first book titled Family Kitchen: Simple and Delicious Recipes for Every Family. She then released Tana Ramsay’s Real Family Food: Delicious Recipes for Everyday Occasions in 2007 and Home Made: Good, Honest Food Made Easy in 2008.

Tana and Gordon Are Very Into Fitness

Ever since they began dating, Tana and Gordon have shared a love of fitness. In fact, Tana has become a frequent marathon runner! During an interview with the Daily Mail in July 2018, the doting mama revealed she got the running bug from her dad, Chris — who completed his 90th marathon in April 2018 — and explained why working out is so important to her.

“When you’re running with your music on, you can cry. You can scream. That’s important,” she said, noting that running has helped her deal with past trauma. “You can’t keep it in because it comes back to haunt you if you haven’t processed it. That’s what causes longterm problems.”

There’s no doubt Tana is in the best shape of her life!

Tana and Gordon Met When She Was 18

Tana and Gordon first crossed paths when she was 18 years old and he was 25. The adorable twosome didn’t initially start dating, considering the stunner was actually in a relationship with another British chef.

At the time they first met, Gordon admitted he patiently waited for the relationship to end even though he so badly want to swoop in and steal her away. After Tana and her ex-beau broke up, Gordon took a shot and asked her out on a date. They tied the knot just three years later in 1996 when Tana was 21 and Gordon was 29. The lovebirds have been attached the hip ever since!

She Was Once Named ‘Celebrity Mom of the Year’

In 2010, Tana was named Tesco Magazine‘s Celebrity Mum of the Year. The loving mom of five was recognized with an award ceremony in central London at the time. During the event, Tana opened up about being the mom of her five kids and revealed what she thinks makes a good mother.

“It’s important to stay close to them, but that gets tricky when they get older and they get secretive and into their teenage years… but just being there, being their friend,” she said at the ceremony, according to Scottish newspaper The Scotsman.
