A couple shots of nature! Suri Cruise was seen taking photos of flowers in New York City, just one day after turning 13 years old!

The teen, who is the only child Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise share, was spotted enjoying the day in the city and partaking in what seems to be one of her hobbies: taking photos. Suri was looking quite casual and comfortable, which does not come as a surprise as her mom, 40, has done her best to keep her down to earth.

“Suri is a great kid. She is so sweet and well-mannered. She’s extremely polite and respectful,” a source told Us Weekly. “She’s just a good girl who is a joy to be around. Katie has done things right with her because she’s very grounded and down to earth. She doesn’t come across as spoiled or like a celebrity kid at all. She’s kind and she always shows gratitude.”

When Suri isn’t out and about enjoying flowers, she’s hanging out with her mother. The mom-daughter duo were recently seen leaving Greece after volunteering at a Syrian refugee camp.

The Dawson Creek alum and her young daughter are extremely close. “My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now,” Katie revealed to Town & Country in March 2017. “It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed.”

Katie and Suri enjoy doing all they can to assist others, as evidenced by their recent visit to a refugee camp. “Raise good humans … I do a lot to put perspective on life. We help out the homeless. We do small acts of kindness,” the actress once revealed during an appearance on Today. “Again, it’s a daily thing. I don’t over-gift. I don’t inundate my child with a lot of things. We’re trying to raise good humans and some days we’re better at it than others. You don’t always get treats.”

The famous teen also spends time with her father. Tom has two other kids — Isabella, 26, and Conner, 24 — that he adopted while married to Nicole Kidman.
