They better make room on the judging panel on Britain’s Got Talent, because it may be getting a new member.

Simon Cowell has made it clear that he wants his son Eric, 5, to follow in his footsteps and take over his empire when he’s older, so what better way to start on that process than by having his only child join him at work? That’s exactly what happened when the 59-year-old took his boy to the set of the UK talent show where he is a judge.

Fellow judge Amanda Holden took to Instagram recently to prove that Simon’s son was hanging with them for the day. “Our fifth judge in the making!” the 48-year-old captioned the photo showing her sticking her tongue out alongside the American Idol alum and his kid. Behind them stands Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, smiling.

Fans were loving this different side of Simon, as they took to the comments section to react. “Eric! He is such a mini Simon!!” one person said. Another added, “But which one of you all is the biggest kid?”

The TV personality, who shares Eric with girlfriend Lauren Silverman, has made his life all about his boy ever since he was born — he has even changed as a person. “He’s madly in love with his son,” an insider exclusively told Closer Weekly, “and he’ll openly tell his friends his intense feeling he has for Eric. He’s turned into a big softie with him.”

Simon also understands that it is important to spend every minute he can with his son. “[Time flies] like you wouldn’t believe,” he once told Us Weekly. “I said to someone the other day, ‘It’s much easier than I thought.’ And then you can’t imagine ever not having him … It’s the most amazing feeling.”

It is so wonderful to see the special bond that Simon and Eric have!
