OH NO!‘Sex and the City’ Creator Darren Star Says Carrie Shouldn’t Have Ended Up With Mr. Big
Sex and the City creator Darren Star just dropped a major bombshell about the series finale.
During a recent Kindle Singles interview, the 54-year-old writer said main character Carrie Bradshaw wouldn’t have ended up with Mr. Big if he’d had his way!
“I think the show ultimately betrayed what it was about, which was that women don’t ultimately find happiness from marriage,” he said. “Not that they can’t. But the show initially was going off script from the romantic comedies that had come before it. That’s what had made women so attached.”
Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth on SATC in 1999.
“For me, in a way — I didn’t [write] those last episodes,” Darren continued. “At a certain point, you’ve got to let [the other writers] follow their vision.”
